[When Kokichi had decided to bring Shuichi back to his room, he didn't think it was too big of a deal. The detective was a sad sack, hurt and depressed from the events that happened during Wonderland, and had a roommate who apparently didn't spend much time actually in their room. That was a recipe for him just laying in there, drowning in his feelings. That's just what sad sacks do. He had no idea that his own roommate, Aziraphale, had plans on bringing a friend to their room too. Which also is not really that big of a deal either.

Of course, when he found out that they were both doing that at the same time, he had to turn it into a big deal.

Namely: it was obviously time for a sleepover. At that point, who wasn't feeling awful thanks to Wonderland? A little sleepover would probably go a long way towards cheering them all up, right? Especially if it was kept kind of lowkey. So, without letting Aziraphale know that he'd be bringing his own friend over and turning this into A Thing, he dragged Shuichi to Fantasy Costco and Bender to get supplies.

Which is why, when the angel returns to their room with his friend in tow, there are party decorations hung up and their table is covered in snack food and there are two teenage boys there instead of just the one, chatting away. When Shuichi notices and turns towards them, Kokichi follows suit, giving them a totally innocent grin and wave.]

Welcome back, Aziraphale-chan!

[ Well, things...seem to be going all right. Aziraphale follows Crowley into the room and closes the door, not-so-subtly eavesdropping on his conversation with Shuichi as he peers curiously at the snacks Kokichi's provided.

He brightens when he sees marshmallows, immediately grabbing the bag and busying himself making hot chocolate for everyone. Just what they all need to soothe themselves after a long day. ]

[slieght]

Shuichi! If you're calling me by my first name, it'll be weird if you call him by his last. [Just. Deciding that for the both of you, apparently.] But Kokichi's fine with me! It'd be weird if you called me something different when Aziraphale-chan calls me that.

[He watches the angel in question snatch up the marshmallows and head to the kitchen, kicking his feet a little over the edge of the chair.]

So are you as much of a goody two shoes as he is, Crowley-chan?Am I in a room full of nothing but sticks in the mud?

[janthony]

[Crowley laughs, a sharp barking thing, and leans back on the couch, spreading out both arms like wings across the back.]

Is that what Aziraphale's been saying?

[Behind his sunglasses, he watches Aziraphale with a gaze that the angel is well used to feeling, though the teens would be forgiven for not picking up on it.]

Mmnnah, more of a 'devil on your shoulder,' me. [He adds, with a smirk. They've been rather up front about their supernatural natures, but if Aziraphale hasn't told his roommate then who would Crowley be not to take the opportunity to make him squirm a little?]

[slieght]

[Kokichi leans forward a little with interest, resting his arms against the table.]

Sooooo you're not gonna care if I lie then? Or that I'm super evil?

[That's clearly what that means. And he's already decided that he likes Crowley. Goody two shoes are fun in their own way, but he'll never say no to people who are on the other side of the moral line.]

[ Well this is all going terribly. Azirahpale is having all sorts of regrets. He hurries over with the cocoa, red-faced, as if there's any hope of salvaging the situation now. ]

Don't believe a word he says, Crowley, he does lie, quite blatantly, although he certainly knows better by now.

[ He gives Crowley a warning look, Kokichi a reprimanding one, then turns to Shuichi with a warm, kindly smile. ]

Cocoa, my dear?

[janthony]

[Crowley grins wickedly, heedless of the warning look from the angel.]

Super evil, are you? Downright...demonic, then?

Crowley!

[ This is hopeless. How do you un-accept an invitation to a sleepover. ]

[slieght]

Nishishishi!

[Oh this is fun. He shakes his head.]

Well I am the Supreme Leader of Evil. I practically rule the world back where we're from. As far as demonic goes, I'm sure there are at least a few people who think that about me.

[diffidentive]

[Shuichi jumps a little when Aziraphale offers him the cocoa, but accepts it with a small smile and a soft thank you. He takes a long, slow drink of it, eyes flicking back and forth between Crowley and Kokichi as he does so.]

[Oh boy. This is...yeah. This is a recipe for disaster right here, isn't it? Poor Aziraphale...]

I think he's closer to "impish" than "demonic", actually.

[He doesn't lower his cocoa cup as he says this, at least not enough for his lips to be visible. He's not sure Kokichi would appreciate what he's saying.]

He's a lot less evil than he'd like you to believe...

[ Bless you, Shuichi. Aziraphale smiles, looking more self-satisfied than any angel really should, and turns back to offer cocoa to Crowley and Kokichi. ]

Less evil than he'd like you to believe, hmm...

[ As a matter of fact, he'd already come to the same conclusion about Kokichi weeks ago. He glances between his roommate and his demon, still looking smug. ]

Sounds like the two of them may have a lot in common, then, Shuichi-san.

[ He pauses, studying Crowley thoughtfully. ]

Impish...

[slieght]

[Kokichi takes the cocoa, staring at Aziraphale as he talks for a few moments before turning to glare at Shuichi.]

Hey, you're not allowed to be a traitor behind my back! You should at least have the cajones to say it where I can hear you, Saihara-chan!

[He doesn't know exactly what you said but how dare you anyway.]

[janthony]

[Crowley pauses in his teasing (which was a little "I know something you don't know," admittedly) when Aziraphale approaches with cocoa. He takes the mug with a cautious glare.]

Watch it, angel.

[It's a little funny how similar they are, indeed.]

[diffidentive]

[Shuichi laughs very softly and briefly, finally lowering his mug as he does so.]

I think I see what you mean, Aziraphale-san. At least a little bit. And...I'm sorry, Oma-kun. But I had a feeling you'd react that way if you knew what I said...

{He'd kind of hoped neither of the other two would respond in a way that gave his comment away but...that was probably too much to hope for, really. And it needed to be said.]

[ Discretion?? What's that? Aziraphale sure doesn't know.

But it's fine. They're all friends here, right? He only smiles in response to Crowley's warning. No promises. ]

Now, Kokichi my dear, there's no need to get upset. Shuichi isn't a traitor. He is your friend, after all, isn't he?

[slieght]

[All Shuichi gets is a set of puffed out cheeks and a look of annoyance before he turns back to Aziraphale. And there's a good pause before he replies, mainly because he only managed to catch the last bit of what the angel said. So it takes him a minute to patch together some context. Or what he assumes is the context.]

Being my friend doesn't give him a pass for being a traitor!

[That's. Probably about what was said. Maybe? But even if it's not, it's good enough, surely. His eyes start tearing up, lips wibbling a little.]

A-are you g-ganging up on me now? That's not f-f-fair! How can you b-both be so m-mean to me?

[janthony]

[Crowley sits back with his hot cocoa and takes a sip. Then pulls a face at how sweet it is, and procures a flask that wasn't on his belt a few seconds ago, pouring a generous amount of something strong and amber into his mug.

He doesn't say anything when Kokichi starts to cry, watching carefully from behind his sunglasses. He knows there's a part of Aziraphale that's soft enough to backpedal immediately, and he'll bet that it'll come out now. Anyway he'll give the two who know the kid a chance to answer first.]

[ But Aziraphale's seen too many of Kokichi's "crying" fits to be fooled by something so obviously fake as this. He just sighs, giving Kokichi a patient, faintly disapproving Look over his cocoa. ]

Now Kokichi, I don't think that's any way to behave in front of our guests.

[diffidentive]

[Shuichi quirks a brow curiously at Crowley's addition to his cocoa, but says nothing. It's just something mildly interesting to take note of.]

[As for Kokichi's crying...he also looks pretty unperturbed by it. He just blows a little on his cocoa and then takes another sip of it. He's seen enough crocodile tears from the other boy not to be bothered by them anymore.]

[Plus, he already said he was sorry! What else is he supposed to do?]

[slieght]

[Kokichi's tears clear up easily enough as he tilts his head, looking as innocent as possible.]

That's never stopped me before. Besides, why change how you act for strangers and guests? Don't you think that's lying to them, Aziraphale-chan? I prefer being as honest as possible! It'd be terrible to trick people into thinking I'm a nice, polite guy!

Ah, that's the secret of being nice, my dear. That's all it takes. If you act nice, then you are nice. No matter how you may try to deny it.

[ He shoots Crowley a quick, significant look before focusing back on Kokichi. ]

And you do like our guests, don't you? Don't you want them to feel comfortable and happy? They can't do that if you're crying.

[There's a brief pause before Kokichi replies, glancing to Shuichi for a moment before turning back to the angel with a more solemn expression.]

Whoever told you that was a bigger liar than me, Aziraphale-chan. Acting nice isn't enough to be nice. It's just a lie you tell when you want to get close to someone so you can hurt them.

[He's had plenty of experience with that.]

If you're actually a nice person, then you'll do nice things, no matter what people think of you or how you act. Maybe you'll act nice too, but your actions are ultimately the determining factor.

[slieght]

[And then he's all smiles again, sipping at his cocoa and swinging his feet a little.]

Buuuut I guess I can keep the tears to a minimum tonight, sure! Since you asked. Hey, do you guys like games? We got some board games and I have a couple decks of cards for card games!

[diffidentive]

[Shuichi meets Kokichi's eyes for that moment and his expression falls a little as he shifts uncomfortably. He's pretty sure he knows what that look is for. He's pretty sure he knows exactly WHO the leader is thinking of when he mentions acting nice to get close enough to hurt people...]

[And it makes him just a little bit sad to remember that...]

[ Aziraphale frowns in disapproval. He's halfway to objecting already, but...Kokichi's right about one thing, at least. This isn't the time or place for that debate, not when they have company. He'll just have to accept his roommate's agreeing not to throw any more of his crying fits as a win. ]

Oh, everyone loves games, I'm sure! [ He looks between Crowley and Shuichi, hopefully. ] Don't you, my dears?
