a) Does the umbrella have any distinctive physical features or is it just An Umbrella Of X Colour? :eyes:

and b) my reading comprehension is taking a bit of a vacation, apparently - can the Weird Rope in the square room be cut (and nothing happens) or cannot be cut (as in scissors/etc just slide off it)? If the former, can part of it be cut off and carried away?
