[ Terry, whimpering, takes a step closer to Alex on her one working leg. ]
I was going to move on. All I wanted was to do something with my life...and look what happened.
[ Head spinning, Alex groans, trying to use the frame to get his barrings--push up with his elbow, something. Neither Carter nor Terry descends upon him, though, and he realizes it's because without the other they'd fall over. Maybe he can use that to his advantage. ]
I didn't... I didn' kill you.
Not for lack of trying, huh, Browning? You said, before, it was a big old mistake, wasn't it? That why you let Terry walk out in front of that bus? Why you let us think for six months it was over?
[ Alex grits his teeth, trying instead to see what's happening with Maya, because- because she's the one who matters.
It's...not good.
Necromantic Touch? Oh, Maya.
Didn't you know you shouldn't use that against dead things?
All this does is make Tod stronger, and he laughs, horribly, blood dripping from his lips as he does. ]
Wha's this...? Ohh, thanks for the pick-me-up, missy! Ya know, Alex was never there to watch ME die. Maybe he'll have to settle f'you, instead.
[ That is enough, in Alex's opinion. He flings out a limp hand with a growl. ] C-can you just- stop!
[ An Eldritch Blast flies at Terry's leg, connecting and sending her toppling. With her goes Carter, the both of them shouting in surprise. Alex doesn't even see that, the moment he's let it fly he starts half-flopping, half-crawling to where Tod's strangling Maya. ]
St- stop- Tod, please--
[ Sneering and laughing, he squeezes harder. Alex doesn't want to do this. But he lets another Eldritch Blast loose. He's not great at aiming right now, so a little residual might hit Maya. But at the very least, its collision with the corpse knocks his hands loose, if only a bit. Just enough for Maya to breathe. ]
