Even with Kokichi's subtle sacrifice, that's a 13. Sayori is in the middle of reading a poem when she realizes the second half is missing. This is fine. She's good at improvising!!! But the improvising takes a really awkward turn into making jokes about hanging in there and you can't be depressed if you're happy!!! Reality is only a construct!!!!! It's super awkward.

Kokichi, having rolled BODY on the dice in his hand, will soon find himself unable to respond. It's less that his mouth has gone numb, and more like something has metaphorically bitten off his tongue. He can still talk, but it requires a lot of concentration. A noticeable amount. Good luck lying to people like this.

The two of them find Niel pretty easily, considering he's huddled up in the house they found the journal in. It's where he belongs. Almost immediately, they can pick up something has gone wrong here. He's too quiet. Unresponsive. His hands remain perfectly still, only veering into shaking slightly when Honoka starts speaking. Of course they helped. Everyone did. Honoka especially! You helped him once. You made me stronger. You made all of me stronger.

Hm. Concerning. But whatever it was that was speaking doesn't win out. Even without any inspiration, that's a 19 to Kokichi and Honoka getting their voices heard. To be remembered. These two are his friends. He trusts them, absolutely, and Niel shakes off the Thrall.

And immediately starts sobbing, getting more and more hysterical in his despair as it goes on. He's able to confirm what they already know - it's his journal, he's scared, he doesn't know what he did wrong - and he is so sorry. He just wanted a place for people to be happy. Where things would be better. He's so sorry you two. And everyone. All those- your friends- All he does is hurt people. He's no better than Dad. He doesn't deserve to be here anymore.

The Compact hears the Wish, and Niel disappears.
