ICly, the dead will know for absolutely certain this is Yggdrasil trying to help. Both the others infected as well as themselves are now linked to the World Tree. When it dies, so will they. When this happens - not if, when - those who died will drop dead immediately. But by that point, hopefully you'll have access to go back to the moon base.
