[She rests both hands on the table, palms down, as she tries to think about how to put it in the best terms for him to understand.]
I guess the better question is... how much do you remember? For me and everyone else I talked to, it's hard to remember the exact moment, but no matter what they were doing, we all just remember... terror. Like listening to a song in minor key, the kind of anxiousness that makes your heart pound without really knowing what's going on.
[At first, she'd assumed it was because she was quite literally dying in that very moment. But that wasn't it. Or rather, that wasn't the only reason.]
The Hunger, um, it's eating everything. All different... worlds? Timelines? It sounds really sci-fi, but... I saw it. A few months ago, we saw it in the sky, this big black mass of inky darkness filled with millions and millions and millions of eyes.
[Her hands curl into fists, and she glances to Shuichi to see how he's taking this all in.]
If we stop it... we can save everybody. Not just our friends, but places and worlds we'd never even imagine as being real! So... we're going to stop it, no matter what.
[She squeezes her clenched fists a little more tightly and gives Shuichi what she hopes is an encouraging nod. It's a lot to take in. She knows it's a lot. But she doesn't want to hide the truth from him this time, either.]
