Hey, hey, did you know you can simulate a lack of oxygen? There are lots of ways to do it! They needed to develop ways to simulate that to figure out how to pressurize air planes and space ships, and learn when to advise people to use oxygen masks...all kinds of good things came out of figuring out how to deprive you of oxygen safely, in a way that wouldn't kill you.
