Though, with the very faint circles just barely visible beneath his eyes, it's possible he IS lacking that as well. He also looks like he could do with a shower and ironing his pants.]

Naturally, he noticed the subtle differences to her height and build when she hugged him earlier and he realized what that might mean. But if she has friends here and knows (or suspects) that "everyone here is really nice", it's obvious that she didn't just get here.
