[Things Dwyer is not surprised by: ending up on a team with Ryuji. He's even wearing the shirt that they tie-dyed together in friendship solidarity; he really doesn't know when else he's going to wear the danged thing, it's. A color mess. But it was made with FRIENDSHIP and if the dingy sign is right, friendship is the key here. Also, it's kind of hilarious to see this exhausted fantasy boy who probably only rolled out of bed twenty minutes ago in khakis and a tie-dye shirt, like as an aside thing.
Things Dwyer is surprised by: everything else, probably? The livestream commentary of other teams, the nature of the obstacles, this new guy who kind of looks like Dave but obviously isn't him, the fact that he has to leave his healing stave behind? Is there no healing here? This sounds like a foolish rule to have in place.
Even so...friendship. He's going to do his darndest, even if it all seems like a troublesome affair. Where better to begin than at the beginning?]
...Well...I suppose we ought to go in now...and get the horrors over with.
TEAM DDR (Dirk Dwyer Ryuji) in the TOMB of HORRORS

[Is he being tongue-in-cheek or serious? Yes.]
