There's probably not a whole lot! Whatever that was, it seems like it's pretty good at going undetected when it wants to — of course, it doesn't stand a chance against a natural 20.
That being said, if there is any evidence it was there at all, it'd be something in the air. Maybe it just feels off around the area where it was. Maybe, if either of them have spells that can detect magic, it'd be something more visible. Maybe it's even a weird smell.
However you choose to interpret it, though, it does seem to lead back to the Tomb of Horrors. And that's as big of an indicator as any that whatever it is, the Director intends for you to encounter it again very soon.
