The Voidfish is very strange, so I admit I don't know much about it. It's a jellyfish of some sort, though truthfully I wonder what it really is? It appears to have a universe inside of it and all things considered at the moment, I'm not sure I can discard the possibility that it really does house one.
I do know it's best not to think about what you drank. [Like. Specifically right now while eating? Don't think about drinking jellyfish shit.] The fact that it alters our ability to hear... well. On the previous mission, we discovered the people of Faerun can't understand us when we talk about the Bureau. They hear the odd static instead.
[He says it with just the slightest emphasis; he doesn't know precisely what it means but it bothers him for sure. Why static? The static itself must have meaning. Why can the people of Faerun understand them otherwise but here, they had to drink it just to understand properly at all. At the time, he had been too disoriented and exhausted not to simply drink it to make his headache less irritating but now, he wishes he hadn't so that he could experiment and test with this.
The point remains that he feels that was done to alter them in some way and while he doesn't outright say it, he hopes what he said was enough to make Minato question it as well.]
I've heard talk that the Voidfish has its tentacles in memories and information. That would explain quite a lot. And raise even more questions, in my opinion.
[Well. He laughs a little before popping a piece of sushi in his mouth. There is no way in hell he can believe things as simply as they have been presented. They're being told lies. But without information otherwise, he also refuses to hope their worlds aren't destroyed. In the end it's just his own distrustful nature, perhaps, but his instinct has rarely been wrong when it comes to shady adults using him.]
