For what it's worth, Rainer is a rather open and inviting person, and despite her knowledge that you aren't who you say you are jumping more than or or two levels deeper than that, she doesn't necessarily do the thing that a regent would usually do in this situation. That is, namely, to throw Spike in a dungeon or have him arrested, or kick him out of the keep.
