(That is a very good question! It sort of seems like Rainer rather enjoys having it handy, and has done this in front of a good number of people.)

Rainer would call this something of an intermediate spell for wizards, and clerics if they're cool with the whole undead thing! Generally, the spell to reanimate a corpse requires a few catalysts: a drop of blood, a piece of flesh and a pinch of bone dust.

Rainer is not really your average necromancer, however, so she's able to make a squirrel skeleton wave like this without using any items. Her best advice, though, if Maya is truly interested in learning more, is to not be squeamish — not with the components a spell might require, or especially not if a corpse she tries to reanimate does something unexpected. Rainer knows that necromancy runs the gamut from morbid to actually taboo, depending on who you ask, so it helps to keep that in mind while practicing.
