Is there any chance of finding more information on the wellspring in the room, or does it have more discarded ramen cups than books or papers? Would any other salient information turn up in an investigation?
Wash is definitely going to try talking to the fuzzy thing, partially because it's adorable and partially because he's not discounting "magical talking animal" as a possibility. Is it the wellspring, or is the wellspring something else? Does it know where or what the wellspring is? Also, does the little guy have a name?
(He will also try ear skritches, because he can absolutely provide those.)
Would Athena be able to talk to it, or is the difference between "catlike" and "actual cat" too big for that to work?
