Oh man does he eat. this. up!

He's also rather glad that Maya seems to not want to judge him for his affinity towards arachnids; listen, he knows that he's a Drow and it's completely stereotypical of him, and he knows it's kind of creepy. But he'll explain to Maya why spiders are significant to his people: they're the avatars of their goddess, Lloth.

While he doesn't worship the goddess himself, he understands why people do. "Der Underdahk is very miscerable!" He's not wrong. Without the sustenance of the land above the Underdark, and without the open walls that the land provides, his people have lived under the continent for countless generations and it's turned them to become very reclusive. And to survive down there from the infliction of madness, you often have to do some pretty horrible things to get by.

But that's not really what she was asking, and he gets lost within explaining the political families of Menzoberranzan before stopping when being questioned about the spiders in Thay.

"I raised some of them on mine own watch! I am called "The Black Spider" around these parts because of it, and yes, it iz a name I have much pride over!"
