For the journal! Alex is going to capitalize on the fact that there are multiple chances for this and start by asking the librarian straight up if anyone's reported a missing journal. Helpful kid shtick. Using what information (if any) he gets from that, he's going to start...a handwriting collection check. And by that I mean showing up to history class a little early and asking any of our named students who happen to be around if he could borrow their notes.
