While caught in the moment, Adriel's better judgment is kind of blurred by his burning hatred for Erinne. They almost can't help it- they're just two hotly headed, diametrically opposed people. From Adriel's side of the story, he'll tell Ferran that she's awful, and that he should stay away from her if he can help it, since she's been known to instigate fights with anyone at any point. It's almost as if they've been fighting for so long that neither of them remember what sleight started it off, but after a few years being here, they both can't even stand the sight of each other.
From his point of view, she constantly berates him for being born of noble birth- and he'd even offer that he's been nothing but a model student here. Perfect grades, perfect attendance... he knows he has to work three or four times as hard as the other students since he's a direct descendant of the Silverhands, one of the founding families of Boarbumps.
As for the students here, he'll relate that most of them are pretty average teenagers who just happened to wind up in a very exclusive school. For centuries, this place only opened its doors to people who came in with prior connections, but after Professor- er, Archmagus Rainer took over as the Regent of the Thay, they've been actively searching out young and gifted people from all walks of life, as long as the innate inclination towards magic is there. The school, since then, has seen a large shift in demographics, and honestly... even as jaded as he is, he knows it's the right mood. He thinks life would've been awful here without having a more diverse student body. Erinne, aside.
Particular schools of magic within Thay are also as diverse as they come. But there is a specific leaning towards whichever members of the High Council are most influential, for better or worse. You'd expect to see a lot of knowledgeable people who are great at necromancy, conjuration, evocation, and divination here.
